Companies with more female promotions have more favorable views

A Spotlight on Gender

Research shows companies that provide women with greater opportunity in leadership have better overall employee experiences.

According to the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, several key factors affect employee satisfaction:

  • When women have access to the same career growth and opportunity as men. This is most apparent when at least one third of promotions go to women.
  • Companies that have more women among the top compensated employees have greater employee satisfaction. This is most apparent when at least one third of women are in the top 10 of compensated executives.
  • When women are offered benefits, which provide family support or health enriching services. These generate favorable views amongst employees regarding work/life balance.
  • Companies that grant a greater number of promotions to female employees have more favorable views, especially opinions of senior leadership.
